2016 Annual Dinner - A fun and inspiring celebration

As you know: The mission of Restore Hetch Hetchy is to return the Hetch Hetchy Valley in Yosemite National Park to its natural splendor ─ while continuing to meet the water and power needs of all communities that depend on the Tuolumne River.

There is nothing in our mission statement about social events. Our annual dinner, however, provides...

... an opportunity for our board, our supporters, and our volunteers to connect and reconnect with each other as we reaffirm our commitment to restoring Hetch Hetchy. It's also a pretty fun event.

We celebrated again this year. We honored Malcolm Margolin, David Vassar and Sally Kaplan with the Stephen Mather Visionary and John Muir Heritage awards. They, in turn, honored us with poignant insights into the importance our campaign and no small amount of amusing repartee.

The evening concluded with a "legal seminar" from Chief Counsel Mike Lozeau in the form of a keynote speech. Everybody seemed to pay close attention.

Good food, good wine, great friends and a wonderful location all contributed to an evening of levity, inspiration and renewed commitment.

Also, a few supporters have said they are not interested in attending gala dinners. Whether you like these events or not, please feel free to contact our office if you would like to chat or meet or coffee or lunch and talk directly about our activities. Our offices are in the East Bay, but Executive Director Spreck Rosekrans visits San Francisco, the Peninsula and Sacramento regularly, and goes to southern California once or twice a year.
