In Memorium:

David Brower

(July 1, 1912 - November 5, 2000)

Restore Hetch Hetchy mourns the loss of one its founding board members, David Brower, who died on November 5, 2000.

David Brower, seen here proudly displaying our bumpersticker, is perhaps this century's most well-known environmentalist. He advocated the restoration of Hetch Hetchy for most of his adult life. In the 1950's, he created a film about Hetch Hetchy, and over the years wrote passionately arguing for its restoration. He spoke about restoration of the Earth in most of his speaking and writing, and we know that restoring Hetch Hetchy was always one of his fondest dreams.

Let us all honor his memory by helping to make his dream come true!
